The Story Behind "A Gypsy's Heart 4-Ever"

So, you might be wondering if there is any special meaning behind this name, and I will tell you, indeed there is! I have always LOVED to travel and immerse myself in new places and experiences. My family says that they had to start writing my address in pencil (remember the days of address books) because I moved around so much. I love reading historical fiction and I always want to go to the places that I read about. Now this had made for some VERY interesting experiences, and my lucky, lucky family has shared many of those experiences with me.  I remember the time when we were in the middle of nowhere looking for wolves.....but that's a story in itself!

I have been the driving force behind every move that we have made....from Louisiana to Colorado, back to Louisiana, then back to Colorado, and now we have made the move to Oregon. Costly...in a monetary way...but what amazing life experiences we have had! Will we stay here forever? I seriously doubt it, but I will admit that it's getting more difficult to start over in a new place. It's hard to leave behind friends, and it's damn hard to make new friends in an unfamiliar place.

Another aspect of my "gypsy heart" is my love of learning new, creative things. Unfortunately, this also means that I tend to jump from one thing to the next, many times not finishing a project before moving on. (the unfinished hand-woven basket, the mosaic that never got grouted, and so many more) This also includes all of the books that I love to read. Sometimes I have a huge stack of books next to my bed, in various stages of completion. Many of them never get finished. Can anyone else out there identify? If so, I'd like to recommend a book for you! (Yes, I did finish reading it!) The title is Refuse to Choose, and it is written by Barbara Sher. You really should check it out!

My current passion is giving new life to vintage furniture for resale purposes. I discovered chalkpaint a couple of months ago, and it was "love at first stroke"! So.... I will be posting my furniture makeovers (you will be amazed at the transformations!), my home decor projects, a few jewelry projects, our weekend jaunts around the Pacific Northwest, and who knows what else!

Until next time...
