Rollercoaster Week!

Hi Everyone!

This week has certainly had some ebb and flow to it. Had coffee with my Pagosa pals Monday morning via Skype, and then cranked out some great little projects in the afternoon...chalkboards, signs, picture frames, lamps. It was a glorious, sunny day and I was so inspired to create. The sunshine and warmth helped my projects dry quickly and that always helps move things right along!

Tuesday came along and so did the rain. Lost my creative flow...just wanted to hibernate...curl up with a good book and take a nap.

Wednesday was the kind of day when nothing goes right. It seemed that, no matter what project I started, I hit a wall (so to speak).  Here's what it looked like...

The furniture I wanted to paint was in the garage and it was too heavy for me to move inside by myself. The table I thought about painting needed to be sanded...but it was raining and I needed to sand outside. So I decided to work on pillows...but the fabric needed to be washed and dried first. Jeez! Really-that's how the whole day went. Can anyone feel my pain? I was also waiting for my van Gogh paint delivery (which never came) so I couldn't leave the house to take care of that long list of errands either.

Today, however, was a huge improvement. I started on this big project this morning. It's definitely my biggest undertaking so far!

I painted the first coat in Graphite and came over it with a second coat of Paris Gray. I finished painting the top-just need to do some distressing. Here's a little teaser...

Tomorrow, I'll start on the bottom piece....after a little treasure hunting, that is! Check back for updates. I have something special in mind for the doors on the bottom....

After much ado, my paint shipment finally arrived...well it arrived in Eugene, that is. To make a long story short, due to a misunderstanding regarding the delivery address, it has been just "hanging around" in town for the past two days. When they told me this morning that it couldn't be delivered until tomorrow....unless I wanted to come get it...I said that I would do exactly that! So, here it is!

Sure didn't look like much paint....

Until I got it unwrapped and unloaded!

Can't wait to crack open my first can...but not tonight! Time to call it a day...

                                                              Until next time,

  1. I can't wait to try some of that paint! The chalkboards look sweet and so does the sign. The sun will be back, and sometimes curling up with a good book is good too. Thanks for the photos; looking forward to seeing what you do with those doors.
