Ugly Duckling to Swan

Hey guys!
I am so excited to say that I have finally finished my biggest transformation so far! Here's the whole story. I saw this great piece sitting unloved and unwanted, in a thrift-store warehouse back in February, but I passed her up. I don't know what the deal was, but I just wasn't feeling it that day. It was a very solid piece of furniture, had great "bones", and it was in primo condition (no repairs at all-YAY!)  Then why did I pass her up?
                                                                Who knows???

I couldn't stop thinking about her...Well, a couple of weeks later, she went to half price....but I was out of town for a couple of weeks. What's a girl to do??? Send the hubby and the kiddo to snag her-and that's exactly what I did!
Thanks guys!

I knew I had my work cut out for me. It would be my biggest project yet. I decided to go with a base coat of chalk paint in a graphite color with a second coat in a beautiful grey. Then I lightly distressed back to the graphite coat.

I added a great french graphic to the the top of the base...

Another awesome graphic on the doors...

And this is how she turned out...She is gorgeous!!! I can see her in her new life as a fancy wine or coffee bar, or even as my friend Leanne suggested...making her debut in a winery. We shall see...

Check out the fleur de lis graphics on the inside of the doors...

One more look at this beautiful gal...

Got a couple more irons in the fire....will share soon!

                                                                          Until then,
                                                                          Varina
