Wowza, what an exciting week I've had! We made our first trip to Canada last weekend, and I was able to spend two fabulous days reaping the benefits of Kathy van Gogh's amazing artistic expertise...two solid days with fellow artists experimenting, asking questions, creating, and admiring-now that's a first for me!
The guys hung out by the pool, went shell collecting on the beach, and did all the "touristy" things while Mama played......I mean worked! (grin) Yes, it was work, but it was so much FUN! I am really excited about all the amazing things I learned, and I'm eager to get started on a new piece. I'm very excited to say that I will also begin offering classes later this month here in Eugene!
On our last day in British Columbia we made a mad dash into Vancouver (just so we could say we've been...) and then headed for the border when we ran out of time....but, we shall return! Next trip...Vancouver Island and Whistler!
Gorgeous mountain views...
The Vancouver skyline...
... only a 15 minute border crossing...
That was just eazy-peazy!
With all of the painting that I've been doing, my awareness of colors and patterns is on overdrive! This morning while I was out for my morning walk, it seems that van Gogh colors were just jumping out at me! I wasn't looking for them, but everywhere I looked...there they were!
Let's see...I saw shades of balsamic, cashmere, chalk, buttah, lipstick, laundered money, mama's boy, chivalry, and can you believe it...diva! I could go on, but I'm sure you understand. Painting with these fabulous colors is like bringing the outdoors into your home. How much fun is that? I just love it!
Until next time...
